How to swing a golf club

I have brought this clips from Youtube.com which Pros at Swail.com had posted.
These clips that they have posted shows you the perfect swing in slow motion so that you can analyze the swing. Notice when he takes his club back his weight shifts mostly to his right, but still maintain his balance. After his backswing, the weight of his body transfers from his right to his left.

You should always finish you swing like the person in the video clip.
There are many people who try to mimic Tiger Woods or other well know Professionals by finishing their swing short. But they are pros, you are not!! so until you have perfected the swing, I don't recommend that you try to do what professonals do. ^^

Hope this video for Youtube helps.

Selecting Your First Golf Clubs

I have friends that are just starting to learn golf and they ask me what golf clubs I would recommend. I always tell them to try to find an old set of clubs that one of their family members used or that I will loan them my old clubs so that they can use to learn first before buying. Despite my offer, they went ahead and bought the expensive and well known clubs that Golf Professonals endorsed. Although, it is hard to resist the temptation of buying the latest new golf clubs, it is better to buy cheap clubs that can be used to practice hitting the ball. I would highly recommend that you use the money on Teaching Pro for lessons first. What is the point of buying a Porche, when you don't know how to drive? Same thing goes for golf clubs as well. When you first start golf, you will be hitting more ground than the ball. Besides, these days even the cheapest set of golf clubs are designed like the well known golf clubs and are made with almost same materials.

If you are really interested on learning how to golf and would like to get a set of golf clubs. Then stop by a golf shops like Roger Dunn Golf Warehouse or online stores, like Amazon.com for set of golf clubs. It arranges from $150-250 for whole set of clubs (Driver,3 woods,3-SW,Putter,Bag). It far more easy on your pocket than if you buy well known brands first, which would cost more than a $1000 to get everything in the bag. I am not saying you shouldn't get the well known brands, I am saying that if you are just learning to golf, get the cheap set of clubs so that you can practice and get to know golf.

○● How to grip a golf club ●○

So you decided to take up golfing. I am going to warn you, it's not going to be pretty. You are going to be hacking most of...well maybe all your shots!!! You will get frustrated and stressed. One may ask "what the hell am I doing, wasting my time and money to be stressed!!" But when you hit your first clear crisp shot, you will be hooked on golf.

First thing you want to do is to learn how to grip your golf clubs. It is very important for beginners to chose their first golf club properly, but I will get into that on the next posting. So Here we are, standing on a golf mat at the PrAcTiCe RaNgE, ready to begin. There are 3 ways to grip your golf clubs:

1. Ten Finger Grip.

Ten Finder Grip is the easiest way to grip a club, but not too popular. As you can see on the picture, it looks like someone gripping a baseball bat. That is why it is also called the "Baseball Grip." I don't recommend you use this grip because although it might seem like a comfortable grip, It's probably the weakest. You will figure out what I mean when you try it.

2. Interlock Grip

Tiger woods use this grip, just to let you know. This is the recommended grip for beginners. This will give you strong sense of security when swinging your golf club. This grip will prevent your grip to turn when on impact. Here is how you grip the Interlock grip. First grip your club with your left hand, then un-grip your left index finger only. Second, you will have to grip your right hand in front of your left hand, but while you are doing that, slide your right little finger between the un-gripped left index finger and middle finger all the way through and grip them together. Your left thumb should be tucked inside your right palm.

3. Vardon Overlap Grip.

It's usually called just the "Overlap Grip." There is not much of a difference to this grip and Interlocking grip, except the fact that your right hand little finger goes on top of the left hand index and middle finger. This is a good grip as well, but I highly recommend people with larger hands to do this grip.

So you learned and picked the grip you will use to learn how to golf. This is just the start and you have things to remember. You would probably think to yourself, "Does little thing like how you grip your club matter??" Well...Yes it does!! It is very important that you learn how to grip your club properly. There are always baby steps to everything you want to learn and you just took your first step. Congrats!

For you experienced golfer, I will start posting more of the lesson materials for your experience. As I mentioned before, feel free to join my blog and give me some ideas to which lesson materials you would like to see.

Game of Golf

It can be seen to many people that the game of golf is boring because in fact, I used to think the same way. But in actual, the game of golf is very much enjoyable because to me, I believe that the game of golf is just like going through life. I know it's kind of funny to compare game of golf to life experiences, but when you know a little bit about the game, then you will know what I am talking about.

The mindset of the golfer determines whether he/she will shoot his/her best score or the worst score. Very much like life, there are many obstacles along the way, for example out of bounds, tall rough grass, bunkers and many more. But with practice and making the right choices, just like life, will be rewarding at the end. There is a saying "taking your medicine." The game of golf teaches you that very well when you have to blow your valuable stroke because the ball was right underneath the tree and had no opening to the hole. All these examples can be compared to obstacle in life and also success and failure in life. All in all, the point of the game of golf is all about having fun and isn't life the same way as well??

Have fun playing golf!!! This is my first blog and I wish that what I post on my blog will help fellow golfers to better their game. I will post golf lesson material and other things that is related to golf. If you disagree or want to give out a little pointers to the readers, please feel free to leave a comment. ^^ I will try to post as frequently as possible.
